About Me

Before getting in the world of unmanned aerial vehicles, I spent nine years as an Army officer, including a year in charge of a 48-soldier construction platoon, six months as a commander of a 14-soldier team on a remote Pacific island, and two-and-a-half years in command of a 78-soldier combat engineer company.

In 2009, I decided to hang up my boots and leave active duty to pursue a PhD in aerospace engineering. My primary technical interests are autonomous rotorcraft guidance, dynamics, navigation, and control. In February 2016 I was fortunate enough to join X, the Moonshot Factory (formerly known as Google[x]), to work on Project Wing.
